Project Details
One of many church's I've cleaned in the last 12 months, each with their own challenges! What i do love is the peace and quiet I get to enjoy, and great access all around the property.
What We Did
We tackled a full gutter clean for the church, but this wasn't just any job. We handled everything with a gentle touch:
Careful Clean-Out: Gently cleared out years of built-up muck and standing water from the deep, original gutters.
Totally Safe Around the Building: We were extra careful around the beautiful stonework and the stained-glass windows, making sure nothing got bumped or scratched.
Solved a Tricky Problem: The main gutter up high was sagging in the middle, holding a ton of water. We had to get creative with our equipment to suck it all out from a really awkward angle.
Set Up a Simple Plan: After seeing the state of things, we set up an easy, twice-a-year clean for them. It’s the smart way to stop big problems before they start.
Challenges We Faced
This job had a few tricky bits that needed a soft hand and some smart thinking:
Being Gentle Was Key: The biggest thing was not damaging anything. Those old stones and windows are irreplaceable.
Deep Gutters & A Big Sag: The gutters were super deep and completely full. The sag in the high gutter meant water couldn’t drain, creating a real pond up there that was hard to reach.
What Could Have Happened: If we hadn’t cleared it, all that water would have started spilling over the sides. For an old building like that, leaking water can lead to really serious – and really expensive – damage over time.
Why This Job Stands Out
This project shows why we love what we do – it’s about protecting the places that matter.
Respect for the Building: It wasn't just a clean; it was about looking after a bit of local history. We took our time and did it right.
Saving Serious Money: Replacing those original gutters would cost a fortune. Our little-and-often cleaning plan keeps them working perfectly for a tiny fraction of the price.
Getting the Job Done, No Matter What: Figuring out how to clear that sagging gutter proved we can adapt and solve problems, even in tough spots.
The Final Result
The church ended up with:
A Safe, Dry Building: No more risk of water pouring over the edges and damaging the walls.
Gutters That Work Like New: Their original gutters were saved and are now flowing perfectly.
No More Surprises: A simple, scheduled clean every 6 months means they can budget for it and stop worrying.
Total Peace of Mind: They know their beautiful church is being looked after by someone who gets it.
